At St John’s for the last 20 years we have been determined to give 10% of our income to help with missionary work both at home and abroad.
Each year in October we plan who will be the recipients for that year and at the end of 2020 this was our decision.
$2000 to ABM to help with a project they felt needed support.
Also $2000 to ABM for their Global Rapid Response Fund.
$3000 to Anglican Aid Abroad to use as they saw fit.
$2000 to Anglicare to be used for those in need.
$1000 to Bush Church Aid.
$500 to the Church Missionary Society.
$500 to Kaddy Transport Dee Why.
$500 to Manly Warringah Women’s Resource Centre.
$1000 to the Mission to Seafarers to help with the plight of so many seafarers caught up in the COVID crisis.
And $3500 to Anglican Aid. This money was used by Anglican Aid to sponsor a student for 3 years as part of Anglican Aid’s Bible College Student sponsorship programme at St Patrick’s Anglican College in Madagascar. Our student is Guillaume Angelot Miada who is studying for a Certificate in Theology and hopes to be a Presbyter.
During the year of course we also send the profits from our concert series to aid any appeals for help and last week we sent $500 to Anglican Aid to help support the staff at Christian Hospitals in India as they fight to save lives in the current crisis.
